I began to have problems with this Z425 in the summer 2014. It was popping and missing and finally stop working in the middle of mowing. At this time, the mower was 13 months old. It hauled to Muttons. I was told the valves were out of adjustment. I asked if I did this and how to prevent this from happening again. Muttons could not tell me how to prevent this from happening again or if I caused it. Fast forward to Spring 2015. This mower is now less than 2 years old and still on warranty. Thank goodness it's still under warranty!!! I did not even get a chance to start mowing my yard this spring (2015) because the mower would not start. Oh it would turn over, but not start. So I drained the fuel, changed the fuel filter, and purged the lines. I finally got the engine to start but the same problem that happened last year, happened again. The engine was missing and popping and hestiating. When I activated the mower blades, the power went away. I could barely finish a 25 ft x 30 ft. section of yard before the engine would stop. And if that was not bad enough, when I called the local dealership (Muttons)where I purchased this "product", they told me that it would be 2 to 3 weeks before they could get to it. After about 10 days, I called back. They had to transfer my mower to another location because the problem was more indepth than they can handle. I don't know what is more of an insult, actually purchasing the Z425 mower after I had researched it, or having to go back to the same place I purchased this "product" for a second time for repairs for the same thing!! I would not have went back to this dealership but they are the only John Deere place to do warranty work in town. I will not purchased another John Deere product!
